The Project
Bath College undertook significant upgrades to three plant rooms located across its two campuses as part of a wider investment in improving system reliability, energy efficiency and long-term sustainability.
Grey Man was appointed to deliver the complete replacement and upgrade of these plant rooms, installing modern heating and hot water systems designed to improve performance while supporting the college’s operational requirements.
The Challenge

Grey Man planned and delivered the project during the Easter and Summer holiday periods to ensure there was no disruption to students or staff.
Key challenges included:
• Full replacement of three plant rooms across two campuses
• Removal and replacement of commercial gas boilers
• Installation of new heating and hot water pumps
• Installation of new flue systems
• Complete replacement of pipework and associated ancillary equipment
• Installation of new electrical supplies
• Installation of thermal insulation to improve system efficiency
• Full system commissioning and certification
